Q. Can this breaker be used in a residential board?
A. Yes — if the load and supply are three‑phase and the board design supports a 3‑pole breaker at 80 A and the board’s fault level allows 10 kA, this breaker is compatible. Always ensure the distribution board and upstream protection are correctly rated.
Q. What is meant by “C‑curve” and when is it appropriate?
A. A C‑curve breaker trips between 5 to 10 times the rated current during a short‑circuit event. It is suitable for general lighting, power, and small motor loads with moderate inrush. If you have large motors or heavy inductive loads, a D‑curve may be more appropriate.
Q. Is the 10 kA rating sufficient?
A. The 10 kA rating indicates it can interrupt fault currents up to 10,000 A under standard test conditions. You must ensure the fault level at the circuit is within this rating for safe operation.
Q. Does it switch neutral as well?
A. This model is a 3‑pole breaker (3P), which does not include a separate neutral pole. If full neutral switching is required (3P+N), a different model should be selected.
Q. What size cable can be terminated?
A. It accepts up to 70 mm² rigid conductor and up to 50 mm² flexible conductor under the screw terminals.
